On Sunday July 18th Clyde Leroy Casto passed away peacefully at home with his children all present. He was preceded in death by his wife Jeanne (Parshall) of 58 years, parents Arthur Casto and Rhoda (Eubank) Morgan, brothers Donald Casto, Earl Casto and Paul Schneider, and daughter-in-law Jami Casto. Surviving are children, Gary (Cindy), Ed (Sharon), Nancy (Guy) Helman, Alan, and Kevin (Teresa). Also surviving are 22 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren, brothers Jim (Nancy) Schneider and Lynn (Patty) Morgan, along with many nephews, nieces, cousins and a host of friends.
Clyde lived a long and happy life with family as his top priority. In his younger years he raced stock cars in the Canton area and has always enjoyed bowling, hunting, fishing and playing cards. Although he had many interests, family was always most important, with the little ones top priority.
He never knew a stranger and was always willing to help anyone. Clyde lived in Canton most of his life and operated a gas station for nearly 10 years. Following that he retired from Penske as a truck mechanic in 1984. He served in the Army during the Korean Conflict. He was born January 28, 1928 in Wendell, West Virginia and has many cousins there that he kept in close contact with.
Calling hours are Thursday 6-8 PM at Arnold Funeral Home 1517 Market Ave N Canton. Funeral services are Friday 11 AM in the funeral home. Final resting place is Sunset Hills Burial Park.
