Thamy Greenbaum

April 21, 1936 ~ July 19, 2021 (age 85)

Thamy (Chrisotheme) Greenbaum, age 85, of Canton, passed away on Monday July 19, 2021. Born on April 21, 1936 in Canton, OH to the late George and Anna (Leontidou) Korosides.

A 1954 graduate of McKinley High School, Thamy remained an avid Bulldog supporter of both football and basketball and a season ticket holder for decades. She worked for over 40 years at the Freedman Window Cleaning Company and later at Anderson's Flowers. She was a member of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, where she spent many hours singing in the choir, in the senior's group and volunteering at the Greek festival. Thamy was an excellent cook, loved to golf and garden, but her true passion was the many pets she rescued. She held her family dear to her heart and especially her two lifelong friends Betty Conley and Argery Giavasis.

Thamy is survived by her sons Stephen (Sheryll) Greene of California, Michael (Nancy) Greenbaum of Hartville; grandchildren Hillary Greene and Caitlin Greene both of Nevada, Hannah Grace Greenbaum of Hartville and great-granddaughter Vera Marlida Buckley of Hartville; brothers-in-law Nelson Freedman and Martin (Carol) Chapman; and many nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by former husband Stanton Greene; parents-in-law Howard and Lillian (Phillips) Freedman; sister-in-law Elaine (Joel) Moskowitz; sister-in-law Maureen Freedman; and her beloved dog Sammy.

Funeral services will be Monday July 26, at 11 AM at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 4705 Fairhaven NW, Canton, with Rev. Father Nicholas Halkias officiating. Visitation is one hour prior to the service at the church (10-11 AM). Final resting place is Forest Hill Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church. Immediately following the graveside committal service, the family will receive friends at Holy Trinity.
